Way Down Under
Let's go flying. A uneventful trip to London and then on to Sydney. The 23 hour flight had a stopover in Singapore and went better than expected when we we all managed to get some sleep on the first leg of the journey. We couldn't feel too sorry for ourselves as my neighbour was continuing on to New Zealand so she had 8 more hours. Agneta liked the big shopping complex at Singapore airport whilst Jessica stocked up with sushi.
Arriving at Sydney at 5.00 am and we had a little scare when Niklas couldn't find his wallet. We hadn't gone through immigration so he returned to the aircraft but couldn't board again. After two searches from BA staff they found it in the aisle. Niklas was buying the first round in a bar in Sydney.
After a mad chinese taxi driver took us to downtown Sydney we met Jon at his flat in Darling Harbour. His daughter Johanna 17 and son Chris 16 were staying there as well as they go to boarding school in Sydney but spend the weekends often hanging out in the flat with friends. The three bedroom modern flat has a fantastic view over Darling Harbour.

A early morning run with ironman Jon was thankfully changed to a car ride around early sunday morning Sydney and most of its sights. We ended up out at Bondi Beach where we got breakfast and could even order in Swedish being served by a Swedish girl.

After an afternoon nap we walked around Darling Harbour in search of an evening meal. Agneta was craving after meat but the best Steakhouse had an hour queue so we took another of Jon's tips and ate Malaysian. Hot and spicy and very good. Finished the evening with a walk around the Rocks and a bottle of an australian specialty, sparkling Shiraz, a dry red wine. Not to everybody's taste so a bit like vegemite.
